Had some fun pulling really tight focus along a line of fallen blossom - more uploads to follow!
At kerb level, it was a bit easier listening for the auto-focus bleep, or randomly setting focus, review, adjust repeat. With film, I would've been lying down and trying to look through at floor level WHICH I DO, but it's nice not to! Maybe I will find a way of embracing my new camera afterall!

It's happened. Finally, after 5 or 6 years of deliberating, borrowing and generally turning my nose up at digital slrs, I caved.

My beloved OM1 isn't very happy, I seem to have bust the wind on mechanism, so dutifully packaged it up for repair. Am heading to Scotland soon, and couldn't be without an 'all-rounder'. Somehow the other cameras wouldn't cut it when I'm faced with silhouetted stags and diving otters (yeah right!).

So - I bought a camera and I don't want ANY fuss from you lot. It's done, I'm not cool with it.

On the plus side, at least I can make the most of the EXIF data feature over there on the right ---->

My Granny.

Asked by me, and my silly ideas and trendy camera to pose for my project.
She obliges, bless her and I probably won't show her this, as I'm quite sure she'll think I'm totally useless and can't take a good picture. It's quite apt that she's obscured by cow parsley skeletons; when I was little we'd go walking in the lanes around her farm and I always loved all the green and white cow parsley plants.

I'm just happy I could feature her among my friends in this little profile portrait double trouble project! More below...

April 2013 - Take film to lab!

Steps:
Set camera to underexpose couple of stops
Take a snap of a pal's profile x 36.
Rewind film
Reload same film
Shoot over the top with textures, woodland, bricks, fence posts....?
Send to lab
Wait 24 hours.....
Collect
Bring home, check results on laptop, smile, learn, repeat as required.

My exposures didn't quite line up, even though I taped the film to the wind-on spool to fix it in place. Other than that, exposure was good and textures were pretty. I like how Ricky's glasses and face are highlighted in sky blue.

Since removing the film from my BELOVED and ever so reliable inherited OM1, I've discovered I broke the winder mech, possibly with taping and am mortified. However, it's prompted me to get it fixed and serviced and I'm pretty sure it hasn't been serviced since year of purchase, 1972. If you learn anything from this shot, it should be buy an OM1 without delay. It won't let you down, unless YOU break IT! ;)
