Camels and Traders at Dusk at Pushkar

This year, I spent 8 days at Pushkar Cattle Fair, so lucky to do that. I had started my still photography in a systematic manner only at Pushkar, last year. When I look back, I feel I have done reasonable improvement, need to do a lot, of course. On the 1st November, almost everyone had packed cameras after the most sought after sunset shots, I had not done so. Now, my habit is that I do not pack my cameras to tuck it away in the bag and push under the car seat. No one could notice, including me, these dramatic clouds, which were far from ordinary. I noticed a camel trader/ owner standing and leaning against his long bamboo stick and looking at the sky. I made a quick move, as he was standing quite nicely and made a good composition. By the time I did my first frame with few stops under, I noticed the golden line on the edges of the clouds and noticed that its like a spot light or like a window, just to frame my subject within. I did few more shots. In the meantime, a camel-cart was passing through the frame and I captured it.

This image is not still that great, but never pack your cameras till you are very very sure that now there is nothing one could shoot and has to move to the base for the night. This was a little bit of reward for my patience and discipline.

Friends, I am just learning Photoshop, this is the result of hit and trial. Please do not ask me how I did and can't reproduce. Though, will try to recall and process some other images.

Friends, I have just got back home after spending eight days at Pushkar Cattle Fair. Its been a great experience. I used to get up at 0430 hours to be with the camels at 0530 hours and get back to my room at 1900 hours, then busy downloading and writing DVDs till 2300 hours. It has been very tiring but exhilarating trip. I have just got back home this morning. Will upload more photos soon.
