Once considered the largest tree in Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This Sequoia is located at the corner of Moss and Richardson in a resident's yard. It was given to the people of Victoria as a seedling in 1858. One would think that a native Douglas Fir, Sitka Spruce, or Western Red Cedar would be the largest tree in this city. Unfortunately the largest examples were logged out in the last two centuries during the years when California was preserving its natural heritage - including its largest trees.
