A rather new addition to the flower collection on my decking, a marigold or Calendula officinalis. I like their sunny yellow colour. A lovely sight on a rainy day.

Fynn, again. Obviously Fynn is still my top model and therefore I post more pictures of him than of everybody else. Quite boring, I know. But unfortunately nobody is as willing to pose for me as Fynn. Cleo has been unusually cooperative recently, too, but her enthusiasm will certainly not last very long. Well, and Luan still suffers of a serious case of camera allergy. :)

I was working in the garden when Cleo decided to join me. She even lied down on the lawn although the grass was quite wet and usually she hates that. Maybe she thought that the very long grass would provide a perfect cover while she observed the birds in the thuja hedge. As soon as I kneeled down on the lawn to take a capture of Cleo, she decided that I provided better cover than the grass and crawled under me. I stood up, took a few steps away from Cleo and kneeled down again but she followed me immediately. We repeated this procedure a couple of times until I finally managed to take a few shots.

Another capture of a goose at Monrepos, Ludwigsburg, Germany. This one was enjoying a peaceful bath in the lake and provided a lovely reflection.

Another capture from the garden exhibition at Bluehendes Barock, Ludwigsburg, Germany. This is a Tiarella cordifolia or Foam Flower and belongs to the Saxifrage family. I admit that I had never heard of this plant before although it seems to be quite common. Somehow these flowers reminded me of an enchanted forest and I almost expected to see a fairy sitting on one of them. :)

This is Luan with his meerkat buddies on the decking. He enjoyed the few moments of sunshine we had last Wednesday. It's very rainy again now, a kind of weather which neither Luan nor the meerkats really like.

Fynn sleeping peacefully on his outdoor scratching post. He was lying on the top level of the scratching post and the background was a very boring grey sky. I had the feeling that this capture desperately needed a texture !

Another flower capture from my garden. I have Chrysanthemums of different colours at the moment. The creamy white one is my favorite because I think that it looks very elegant.

Quite a strange picture of Ramses. After an inspection of his very wet outdoor territory, he was busy bringing his lovely pink toes back into shape. Don't know why it was necessary to show his claw for the procedure ! (another strange capture in the comments)

Pigeon at Monrepos

When I was taking pictures at Monrepos, Ludwigsburg, Germany, I saw this pigeon who stared out onto the water for an eternity. She seemed to be completely fascinated by the ducks and geese on the lake. Hopefully not the first sign of an identity crisis.

I have found this lovely pink flower at a garden exhibition two weeks ago. It looked very much like a poppy although I guess that it's probably an anemone. I have fallen in love with these flowers and would love to have some of them for my garden.
This capture looks like selective colouring but in fact that's how it came out of the camera. The flower was located next to a pathway which was covered with grey pebbles.

The weekend hasn't been great for my cats (and for me) as it was rainy, windy and very cold. Not really the kind of weather that you are hoping for in spring. The cats were lethargic and I couldn't motivate them for a photo session, not even Fynn who usually loves the camera. Would have been difficult anyway as it was far too dark to take decent pictures in the house. This capture of Luan is in fact the only one which I have taken over the whole weekend. He was sitting at my bedroom window and watching the falling rain.

Cleo is sitting on the living room table and watching my gardening activities from a safe distance. Somehow I've got the impression that she is not convinced yet of my efforts to embellish her outdoor territory. The reactions of the boys cats aren't much better (see more in the comments).

This is one of the captures I have taken at a garden exhibition at Bluehendes Barock, Ludwigsburg, Germany. Somehow tulips always seem to attract me. In this case I liked the clear lines of the tulip bud and the colour. Unfortunately the light wasn't great that day as it was very cloudy.

Nothing spectacular, just one of many daisies in my garden. I like daisies, not only because they are quite pretty but also because they are low-maintenance flowers. :)

Fynn was climbing his outdoor scratching post when he suddenly stopped for a moment because something in the neighbour's garden caught his attention. It would have been better to capture him full size as he looked so funny hanging like a monkey on the stem of the scratching post, but I was far too close for such a shot ! All I managed before Fynn continued his way up was this portrait shot. Maybe I'll do better next time !

The lavender doesn't look good anymore !

So true, Luan, but I'm awefully behind with my work in the garden due to the rainy weather we had last week. And unfortunately the few sunny days always don't seem to have enough hours.

Not the first poppy of my life, of course, but the first poppy of the season in my garden. I always love their vibrant red colour and the often rather crumpled nature of the petals when the bud has freshly opened.
