The coming Lunar New Year was celebrated by the Chinese community today in Melbourne - the year of the Snake. It was a celebration of colour, people, food, multiculturism, and everything Melbourne.

It was a striking sight to see the sun rise over the Smokies - the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. The rays laying along the ridge was a sight to see.

We went to the REO Speedwagon concert in Biloxi, Mississippi late December, and whilst there, also went to the Hard Rock Cafe. They have a display of instruments form bands - one being a guitar from REO guitarist, Dave Amato.
Someone was pleased!!!

There have been a lot of bushfires burning in the state since I arrived home last week. The surnises have been so colourful with the sky full of smoke.
Taken from my work building last week, with fires still burning in Gippsland in the east of the state

We were on the beach at Palm Cove near Cairns waiting for the recent eclipse. The clouds were threatening to obscure the event, but they certainly added to the drama of the sun rising
