OBERON ZELL RAVENHEART - The Real-life Dumbledore

Far, far way, through thunder, lightning and rain, above clouds where dragons command, beneath mists into forests of yore, to an enchanted realm twixt logic and fantasy, to that stranger than strange land the faeries call… California. There, in a sacred valley to the North, Bizarre has been spirited away for an auspicious audience with the world’s most renowned Wizard, a founding father of the Neo-Pagan movement of the ‘60s and now Headmaster to his own real-life school of Magick, The Grey School of Wizardry.

With a curriculum culled from the Wisdom of the Ages, over 800 future Harry Potters from every walk of life, aged 11 to 75, from 40 countries, study at the online academy attending classes covering the spectrum of human knowledge; from Classical Studies in Latin, sacred geometry and the Elements, to psychic arts, sorcery and quantum physics. Apprentices can attend summer camp Conclaves learning skills at hands-on classes and workshops in Tarot, wand-making, palmistry or incense blending, and when back in Muggle-Land socialise via the virtual tavern. Much like Hogwarts in the aforementioned J.K. Rowling phenomenon, the school is separated into houses and lodges (Gnomes, Sylphs, Undines and Salamanders), while 16 colour-coded Departments encompass topics such as of Alchemy, Cosmology, Beast Mastery, Cosmology, Dark Arts and of course Wizardry itself.

‘A wizard or wys-ard literally means a “wise one,”’ explains the 69 year-old bearded sage, appropriately attired in flowing garbs replete with moons and stars. ‘Throughout history, Wizards have been the masters of arcane lore: mentors, teachers, and royal advisors such as Merlin to King Arthur or Obi-Wan to Luke Skywalker. I have studied magick all my life, but being a Wizard is usually something other people call you before you start to assume that identity.’
