Senescent fibroblast 1

glyn_nelson posted a photo:

Live cells expressing green fluorescent protein targetted to the mitochondria and red fluorescent protein targetted to the lysosomes, and the DNA labelled with Hoechst (blue). Images acquired as z stacks on a Leica widefield, deconvolved and rendered in Huygens (SVI).

The image shows a senescent human fibroblast with a large mitochondrial network and a lot of lysosomes, both of which are typical in senescent cells.

The nucleus floating in space, like bricks don't, is that of a poorly transfected cell, so it's mitochondria aren't labelled, and there is a small amount of red fluorescent label in it's lysosomes, so some of the brighter ones are visible.
