The hawk flew from the roof of our house to our pool ladder, where he sat for some time. He looks like he's contemplating a high dive. See comments section for additional photos.

This hawk parked himself on the roof of our house. The photo was taken through a window and screen so it's a bit grainy. See my photo stream for more pictures of this amazing bird hanging out by my pool.

I think this deer-like animal is called a kudo. She was so friendly she came right over to where we were standing watching her. She seemed to want to get closer to us, but some rocks kept her from getting too close. We talked to her and she stood there the whole time, posing nicely for us as we photographed her.

I had only 20 seconds from the time these two landed until they flew away to get this shot. I was so happy a couple of the half a dozen shots I took came out in focus.

Turkey Daycare

There were about 20 baby turkeys and three mothers in our yard and I followed them with my camera.

As I followed, the turkeys all walked faster and faster towards the backyard trying to get away from me.

Suddenly, all chaos broke out when a bunch of the babies went into a panic and started flying up into the trees. One or two at a time they’d take a running start and fly up to a tree.

The glowing effect on the branches and weeds are from the way the sun was hitting them and not through any photo editing.
