From a car show in Wanamingo on the 4th of July. This car reminds me of a car a college friend had. He got a ticket one summer and his farmer grandfather said. "That don't surprise me none son, that car looks to be goin 60 when it's standin still."

Wheels of Fame

Last week I heard that the 2011 inductees to the National Toy Hall of Fame included Hot Wheels, Doll Houses and the Blanket! (in 2008 one inductee was "the stick" :-) )

Hot Wheels were introduced in 1968 by Mattel, building on the success of Matchbox cars.

I needed a wheel picture this week, so here's to you Hot Wheels! This model was one of my favorites, the "Silhouette". It's based on an actual car built by designer Bill Cushenbery
