Yosemite NP. Just 2 days prior a gentleman fell/jumped of the falls and the Search and Rescue team retrieved the body while I was there. RIP. (I shot this from behind the railing) Be safe everyone!!

Went to capture the wild lupine one last time, only to find 95% of them were dead. So I went off looking for something to salvage a 2 hour drive....pleased with what came home with. What do you think?

Look at on black, as it looks best that way.

I did something I should have not done, and that was rush to put the version of this image out there. In the first version of this I did a hideous job of blending the trees in the upper right corner and they looked blurred! I also felt the image was to bright, as I captured it in the last of the fading light. (Side note, Willie Huang as an image taken at this exact spot, I belive he was here just the day before, as he had a nice set of clouds in his image. Here I was thinking I found this jewel, only to see it in Outdoor Photographer, winner of "Wildflower Assignment". Congrats Willie.)

How I love this time of the year with all the great wildflowers. I captured this while hanging out with another photographer friend Susan Martin.

How I did it: A 3 image compilation. 2 files of the flowers were both captured via ISO 100, f8, 1/5 second exposure, I only changed the focus point from the bottom of the image and the far edge of the flowers (to get maximum details). I have a little blur of some if the flowers due to the wind whipping around. The 3rd image is of the sky which was captured via ISO 100, f8, 1/125 second. The 3 images were then merged in PS.

An awful day.

After a day of taxes and the horror of Boston, I needed to get out and reconnect with the LORD. So I went out and captured this today. I don't pretend to know or understand his ways, I just know his ways is perfect. My heart bleeds for the people and families affected by the events in Boston today. My feeble attempt to brighten the day.

This made my Day!!!

Sunrise over Lk Tahoe and Eagle falls

Captured this sunrise image this morning at Eagle Falls on Lake Tahoe.

It's a composite image consisting of 2 images. The first image (the sunrise) was captured at 1/100th of a second. Giving me a dark foreground. I wanted a more "Milky" look and more detail in the waterfall, so I shot it again at a slower exposure, 1/4 of a second. Both images were shot at f8 at ISO 100, auto white balance on a tripod with a cable release. I then merged the 2 images in Photoshop to give me this winner. Enjoy.
