Just a catch up. I spent the whole day selling off my old books at a flea market together with my dad. Despite Mothers Day it was great to have a few hours just for my dad and me... and the books.

Ranunculus Rainbow.

While wandering over the farmer's market in Düsseldorf, I took a few shots of those pretty ranunculus. Because I like them. Because I love their color.

At home I realized, that there are ranunculus in all colors of the rainbow from yellow to dark violet.

So, happy colorful MacroMonday!

Yesterday I had my first stylized portrait session with the theme of "Picnic for Girlfriends". It was a lot of fun organizing and shooting it - especially since the weather turned out to be perfect for the theme. So far I'm not 100% happy with my editing, so this is just a sneak peak.

Yesterday I read in the paper that this winter has been the darkest one in the past years with only 96 hours of sun. No wonder my creative juices are not flowing - I need light!

But this little buquet my mum got as a present cheered me up tremendously. It's like a little green fairy planet.

It was a gloomy, cold afternoon with the grass still wet from all the rain.

But these two radiated with love and were in their own little world among all the cherry trees. They didn't care about the cold, wet feet and funny stares from passer bys. Because that's what love does to you, it puts you in your own little world....

Today I finished of 3 sets of greeting cards, which will be a present from my mum for her colleagues. What a great feeling to see my own work in print!

It is one of my resolutions for this year to get my images off of my hard disk and on walls/greeting cards/albums. Doing this today I realized, that it's not THAT much work, but very satisfying in the end. Just the boost I needed to work on my resolution...

My interpretation of Bruce Naumann's "Violins Violence Silence".
It is currently on display at the Tate Modern and I really liked it.

I simply can't get enough of thses shots. The colors, the light,all the things haging out of the windos.
I even like the trash, it fits perfectly.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I really had a hard time narrowing them down to only 3 (!) shots.

This is the final day of catching up from 2012 and I'm so happy I'm finally done with the California part of my trip. From this one particular day I remember the joy I felt when spotting all the different color on the Santa Monica Pier, when sitting in the sun with closed eyes and being able to hear the ocean beneath us.
