Markets would seem like an easy place for street photographers - so much colour and artsy/happy people, but I find them challenging. A moment after taking this quiet, contemplative scene, a woman (not the lady in the shot) sprang from nowhere and confronted me about photographing her baskets (I trust I have darkened them sufficiently so you cant steal her designs). Feeling a little out of sorts after calming her down with a discussion on the miracle of photoshop, I walked off and ate nachos with far too much chilli.

Art Deco was made for photography. The Everglades was designed and built in the 1930's and set within grounds designed by the Danish landscape architect, Paul Sorenson.

The third and final week of the night studio.

Again I'll be focusing on 'street noir' over the coming days. I suspect the reason this genre holds a certain appeal for me is because it shoots off in the opposite direction to my day job. By day, I work with folk to design and deliver a vibrant city with safe and lively streets. Lurking about with a camera by night, I create lonely, sinister spaces with weird beauty. Love it.

Thanks to all that have visited, commented or fav-ed of late. Its flattering to know these images aren't disappearing into the ether.
