I thought these guys looked so cute with their heads all turned the same way..I think that they are so happy to be out of the water and feel some warmth from the sun!!

I can't change the seagull banner to one of my own..Everytime I try I get error on page message..I use IE 8 if anybody knows how I can fix this please let me know..Thanks Have a great day!! ; )

It was so nice to see after our cool Spring that the Tulips bloomed.. It was very windy outside but they still looked pretty!

I will try to catch up on comments tomorrow..I couldn't view my photostream or yours until awhile ago..I need to take a breather ..Pretty exhausting trying to figure this out!

Mama goose diligently sat on her nest for almost a month.. Her little ones hatched on Mother's Day!! She had six eggs, but only four survived.. I visited her almost everyday and talked to her..She would get off of her nest and gently turn her eggs with her bill and build up her nest higher..

I feel so blessed to have them trust me like they do!!! If I call them they come over to see me.. There's one little one that always kind of wanders off a little and he/she loves to hang out with Dad!!!

The name bleeding heart is derived from the blossom's resemblance to a puffy pink heart with two drops at its tip. The shape of the flower has led to some other interesting common names. "Lyre flower" refers to the fully-opened flower, which is shaped like a small harp; "Dutchman's trousers" comes from the flower's resemblance to a pair of baggy pants. To understand the name "lady in the bath," it is necessary to hold the flower pointed-side up. Gently depress the pink petals to expose the white "lady," or inner petal of the flower.

The flowers open beginning in April, dangling along the plant's gracefully arching stems. If in a location to its liking and not allowed to dry out, a large specimen will display blooms for as long as four to six weeks. The gray-green leaves are soft, lacy and finely divided. The most commonly found bleeding heart has blossoms of pale to deep pink, but there is also a white-flowered version, Dicentra spectabilis "Alba."

I was so excited to find these bleeding hearts flowers!! They were hiding behind some bushes.. It's been so cold here and the flowers that normally bloom haven't yet..

Because spring is so late this year, it could be "dazzling" when it comes. When it does, it could be absolutely spectacular. Everything could come at one time. The danger is that the you might blink and miss it or plunge right into sweltering summer heat...

I do think that all of Nature is mixed up.. The pond is usually full of ducks and geese and there are just a handful.. The trees are getting leaves, but some trees are still bare...So many of the flowers should have bloomed by now.. I know that it's like this in many other places too.. All we can do is dream of Spring right now! Nature is starting to 'spring' into action slowly but surely .. ; )

I'm so glad that this Mama ( I call her Greta) lets me sit close by and watch her..I talk to her and tell her what a good mama she is!!!...she just looks at me and probably thinks, "now what is that goofy lady saying to me"!!! ; )
She got off her nest and is actually rearranging the eggs and rolling them over very gently.. She's got six eggs in her nest! ; )

I had such a wonderful day today! It finally felt like Spring and it was so nice and peaceful to sit and see and hear the sounds of nature!

I'll catch up tomorrow..Tried to use Flickr earlier today but had problems..So glad the Flickr staff fixed it!!

This little Robin went to get a drink...It's still colder than average here..... Kind of weird to be wearing a hat and winter coat in May, but it could be worse, some places got a foot of snow here in Minnesota! The trees don't have leaves yet and I haven't seen many flowers, some crocus.. But it will get warmer soon and little Robin Redbreast will find many worms and grubs to eat! ; )

Mating

Mating season is February to early April.

Geese mate for life and will stay together during all seasons.

Geese will find a new mate if the mate is killed or dies.

Geese return to the area of their birth each year to mate and nest.

This Papa goose is a father- to -be!! He knows me from last year and followed me around the pond. I call him and he comes to me... He leisurely swims around the pond , occasionally chasing a couple ducks away from where Mother Goose is nesting..Too bad they can't trade places..She's gotta sit on the nest for 30 days or so!!! ; )

Nesting season is Mid March to May.
Migratory geese nest in Canada.
Geese nesting in the U.S. are "resident" geese who were born here.
Geese begin to nest at the age of 2.
Geese will return to the exact site of the previous years nest or sometimes a nearby pond or other body of water.
Geese prefer isolated sites on the ground, near water, and will hide their nests.
Geese will appear in pairs during nesting season. A solitary goose typically indicates that a nest is in the vicinity and "he" is standing guard. He checks on her occassinally..
The average number of eggs in a nest is 6. However, there can be as many as 10-12.
A mother goose will typically lay 1 egg per day and will not begin incubation until all eggs are laid.
Incubation time is 28 – 30 days.

Hatching/Maturing
All eggs in the nest hatch on approximately the same day.
The goslings will be able to fly in 2-3 months.
During the maturing time the adult geese do not leave the area.
The geese will attack humans while protecting their young. ( I don't blame them!! ; )
The maturing period of the goslings overlaps with the molting season for the adults.

I can't wait to see her little ones!!! ; ) Animals are so smart,,,She remembers me from last year!!!
