Sunset at the lake - Lago di Albano, Castel Gandolfo, Rome

Here it is. One of my favorites shots I made few days ago during a wonderful sunny day visit at the lake of Albano.

Thanks to a couple of ND filters (especially the hoya nd400) I was able to make an exposure of a minute and an half in full day light (it was 4.47pm).

The village (not visible in the photo) over the lake is Castel Gandolfo, where is located the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo which serves as a summer residence and vacation retreat for the pope.

Thanks to a couple of ND filters (especially the hoya nd400) I was able to make an exposure of more than 1 minute in full day light (it was 4.30pm).

Topping the two filters created a clearly visible vignetting, and that's the reason why I had to crop a little bit this photo.

The main problem when using 2 ND filters is the green/yellow color cast, easily fixable by using color balance correction.

I was out of luck since my canon eos battery died during the whole trip. But luckily I had my backup camera, a Canon Powershot G7

These two big guys are located at the limit of Lazio and Abruzzo, near Amatrice, in the Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e dei Monti della Laga.

I was out of luck since my canon eos battery died during the whole trip. But luckily I had my backup camera, a Canon Powershot G7 togheter with an iPhone 5, which I used for this photo.

The Earth shadow is clearly visible on the top left of the Moon. The sky was full of clouds and I only had a 5 minutes window to take some clear shots.

The Cathedral of Orvieto, a large 14th century Roman Catholic cathedral, built under the orders of Pope Nicolò IV.
