sometimes i wish i could walk out the door and see fields of flowers. i'm in awe (and a bit jealous :) of the beautiful images of fields of tulips in the pacific northwest and elsewhere seen here on flickr. but spring in nyc is more like this - bikes, buildings, and crowds all around, so seeing blooming trees and flowers in parks is a real treat. can't imagine what i'd do if i saw a whole field of tulips :)

and here's a fence as well. so happy fence friday and happy weekend!

hello, flickr. i've missed you. haven't posted in a long while. i have been busy with work and family and haven't been taking pictures with my dslr regularly. however, i have been on here lately. i have missed using a dslr and will return to it. looking forward to catching up with your lovely photostreams.

autumn is in full swing elsewhere, but here in nyc, we are still waiting for autumn to put on its annual show. it usually happens in early november, when the leaves turn multi-colored.

for now, here's one from last month.

ps- i just accidentally deleted the last photo of the iphone image on here when exporting from lightroom. being new to it and all :/

Fresh grapes...one of the best fruits of summer. As I was composing this shot, this one grape fell to the side. I was going to remove it, but then decided it looks more natural this way. Also, I don't know why, but it kinda reminds me of people. Kind of like when someone who is against a group, and does not go along with them just for the sake of conforming, but who does their own thing and stands their ground, and not afraid to show their individuality.

Then a moment later, I just thought about how tasty they are :)

Been away from Flickr for a bit. Just finished my month and a half photography class and did not have much time to be on Flickr. But now am pretty much caught up with everyone's lovely work!

This was inspired by one of my fave images that I had seen on Flickr. The flowers here, though, are not real; I did not have any real ones around the house. They are actually flower accessories for the hair. I figured I'd use them as substitutes as I really wanted to take a still life image that day!
