google maps street view car - mapping washington beltway

As seen on the washington dc beltway. Not 100% sure if he was recording data, but the driver was nice and steady. Followed directly behind him for a couple of miles in hopes of immortalization in future street view routes of the virginia and maryland capital beltway. Shot in vain with my iphone.

Intriguing, but kind of dangerous plexi-public sculpture in the middle of the sidewalk. I wouldn't be surprised if people had bonked into it more than a few times.

The mid field stripe is a turnaround point for soccer wind sprints. My son likes to run and is near the top of the pack. He is also so competative, he'll cut a few feet off the turnaround to shorten the distance. I'll have to keep my eye on the boy when he gets to Wall Street.

Power lines cut through asphalt like hot knife through butter. We figure the line caused the water below the street to boil until steam pressure popped the asphalt like melted cheese in a toaster.

We're probably seeing the peak of the storm right now. Dense snow and strong wind. Maybe six inches of light new snow whiting removing all contrast with what we could see of the ground. There's nothing left of from the giddiness of the previous two storms. People are realizing all these school and work holidays are leaving vast amounts of our normal lives piled up in our inboxes.
