Boulevard East is a scenic thoroughfare in the North Hudson, New Jersey municipalities of Weehawken, West New York, Guttenberg and North Bergen. Apart from small sections at either end, the road runs along the crest of the Hudson Palisades, affording it views of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline.

The memorial marks the site where about 60,000 people were evacuated by ferry from Manhattan to New Jersey and received medical attention, water, and food on Sept. 11, 2001, after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
The memorial consists of two trident-shaped beams, which served as supports for the towers, salvaged from the WTC site, which stand 8 feet wide, 30 feet long, and weigh 50,000 pounds. The memorial also includes a lawn, infinity pool and fountain.
