I was thrilled to get this series with the 7d! I used the back focus button and it really improved the performance of the camera!

Wow I just realized I joined Flickr and posted my first shot on 4/21/2006...it's been a great 7 years!!! Flickr really did change me life in so many ways...new friends, new passions and pure enjoyment looking at all the beauty from around the world! The closest thing to traveling the world for me! Thank you everyone!

As I was driving home from the first spot I visited I spotted a few more Egrets near my home...This is the neighborhood bully and came across the beach just to pick on of the three Egrets who were peacefully fishing together in their favorite spot!

I had the pleasure of joining David Reese, who I met last year while out photographing Egrets, for a trip to Neary Lagoon where we had the pleasure of spotting several Wood Ducks. They are very shy and hard to get close to...but I am so glad that they are returning to this special spot as they have been very scarce there the last couple of years.

These Godwits were so pretty in the late afternoon light...this was the afternoon that a trucker from Oregon with two trailers full of hay got lost on Elkhorn Rd and ran out of gas right near where I was photographing these birds. it took 2 1/2 hours for him to finally get some help!

As I was returning to Santa Cruz I decided to take a drive around another refuge and spotted this Kite in a tree by the road....Instead of flying away into the distance it circled around my car a couple of times.
