It's been a long day, left Winchester at 9:45 am, arrived Inverness at 8:10 pm, then Thurso at about 10:30 pm so I am sure you will forgive me for not stopping and doing this properly.

Winchester Cathedral, always a favourite, much of my early photography was taken around this building, many a Sunday morning spent walking around its grounds.

The reason for the trip south was for my Fathers funeral today, and hence the reason why I have not been commenting much over the last week or so.

Train Stationary about half an hour out of Inverness while they try and start the front propulsion unit, not sure if that meant the engine wouldn't start, or if there was no steam in the boiler!
The breakfast was good though.
We went back to Inverness, I was put on a cramped coach for the over 3 hour journey by road to Edinburgh, to allow me to catch a train that left Inverness an hour later than I left on the coach, not impressed.

Not the best of days.

Every one had kept telling me the train journey from Thurso to Inverness was stunning, well I have to agree, not the best weather, or the best of reasons for doing it, but stunning.

I am so impressed with this generation of Nikons, the ability to hold highlights and shadows is dramatically better than the D3 was and make the camera a joy to use in agressive lighting conditions like this.
