I don't know why, but this makes me think of the 20s. I think it's the lipstick and lack of colour. It's certainly not the skully scarf.

Both flashes set before me one up to the right about 45 degrees, one floor to my left with a wrap around reflector.

Just the flash/umbrella to the upper right. This was an accident, the other flash didn't fire. But I still like the effect.

Lighting set up on loan courtesy of Indigofire_net, who is awesome. Because he also taught me how to use it and set it up. This is something I was not taught in the photography classes in college.

I've been contemplating getting some gear of my own like this. It would be something of an investment for this precise set up. Still not as much as the camera, but depending on if and where deals are found, still a lot of money for something I'll use, but not as often as just the camera (which has more than made up for its price tag in sheer usefulness and joy that it brings me)

I had trouble going down these stairs. They trigger a little of my fear of heights. Worth the trek down. Though I clung to the railing and ignored the shaking in my legs the whole way to the bottom.

I took several of the same shot today, experimenting with levels to get interesting effects. I like this one because I didn't notice until I got home that I captured a perfect glowing silhouette of a little boy on the stairs.

I found this one showed the clarity of the water and texture of the river bed best in black and white. It's sparkly too. I like that
