With some funding from www.gardenmuseum.org.uk and further support from www.tomcecil.co.uk I was able to showcase this prototype at my exhibition. Tom did an amazing job at bringing my vision to life. It's still at prototype stage and this exhibition will enable us to improve on the design and make it commercially available.

Here is the tea party scene with the addition of cup cakes and pink blossom. Not easy to photograph, as it is in one of the darkest areas of the hotel.

We use cylinder vases very frequently, so adding a strip of Birch bark to the top adds a new dimension and helps unite the colour of the cyclamen vases with the Calla lilies.

I started out with clear vases for this design, but as soon as I saw the large mop head of hydrangea in one of these green bottle vases, I changed my mind. The Eucharis were going to be angled at the top of the bottle vases with the hydrangea.

At the market I looked for another interesting grass to add to the design, but then I found the lovely branches of crab apple instead. This changed the whole 'story'. With branches of apple and hydrangeas in place, the vases became tree trunks, the apple and hydrangea became the canopy and the Eucharis the underplanting, to create a fresh-looking woodland scene in green and white.

It wasn't easy to photograph as either the hydrangea looked too dark or I bleached out the white Eucharis. The cropped picture before the one was the best compromise I could get for the exposure.

Farewell to the Connaught! This will probably be my last design for The Connaught, as I will soon be taking control of a bigger contract at a bigger hotel. Keep watching this space, as I will not be posting until things are up and running.
