Blimey! This got Highly Commended in the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition for 2013 in the Bountiful Earth category! Many many thanks to Kvetina-Marie for suggesting I enter it. She should know, cos she's had several photos get to the top of the pile in IGPOTY.

We have decor from lots of different periods in our house. This is a mirror I dislike quite intensely. And it stands over a basin in that fetching "dead flesh" pink from that era. In the study. What more could anyone want.

(Lazily testing my lens after its repair last week.)

That was a superb gig last night at the Blind Tiger, even though I had to leave before the end to catch my train home. There are a few tickets still available (miraculously) for tomorrow's gig (28 Feb) thanks to the move to Guildford's own mini-Union Chapel! (aka Holy Trinity Church.) The smaller original venue sold out as soon as tickets went on sale.

This is the Child Ballads tour (but trust me, they're not for children) although they're playing a mix of other material too, including from Hadestown and Young Man in America if last night was anything to go by.

If you're open-minded about genre and like live music, I highly recommend you contact People Records for a ticket. If you live within three or four hours' travel from Guildford, that is. ;-)
