The image gives the impression that I photographed him through a couple of windows. The truth is, he was standing right next to me when I clicked the shutter. Even *I* am having trouble figuring this one out, and I was there when it was taken. I mean, I'm the one who TOOK it!

These shots were really fun to take. And Pablo is fun to hang out with. Nice way to say farewell to DC (at least for a while...)

This shop window had textures and colors galore, and mirrors propped at jaunty angles. Two photographers stumbling upon the scene were helpless to fight the urge... we spent quite a while getting some cool shots, and I could have spent hours more!

Day 115: Reflective reading, Sunday

I keep finding my "glass castle," my sanctuary spot surrounded by windows,
sitting wide open and available in a coffee shop in my neighborhood. I can't
imagine why there isn't a 30-minute wait for this little piece of heaven.

I finished The Glass Castle yesterday (thank you, Jeannette Walls) and now
I'm reading A Three Dog Life. I fear I will gobble the book down too
quickly. It deserves a leisurely meandering, occasional sips rather than a
bottoms-up frat party glug-glug-glug.

I also went to the zoo today, purportedly to see the lion cubs, but in fact
to be with my friends for some easy company. And that's what I got. So
thanks, you guys.

It's warming up a bit out there. And so am I.
