Despite having wooden hulls, some of the major structures like the bridge are strengthened or constructed entirely out of fiberglass.

The sailor on the right claims he is from Indramayu - a small coastal town in West Java Province. he said he has known boats and fishing since he was five. Asked why he came to make a living here, he said that jobs are better and pay is good here.

The old train station in central Yogyakarta basking in the morning light. Much has been said about this historical building, the tinted glass and much of the architecture structure, details, and ornaments are being well preserved.

Doomsday Teak Wood Forest

An eery scene straight from a post-apocalyptic, doomsday poster. On our way to the southern coastline of Jember regency, we passed along a teak wood forest full of dead trees. The trees were euthanized intentionally by the local department of forestry for harvesting.

A smile means this worker is certainly happy and looking forward to a big paycheck at the end of the day. This pair of workers wait of wicker baskets that they will fill with frozen tuna, and drag them across the deck to for unloading. this is a very labor intensive process.

You have to be a wealthy businessman to own and run these vessels. A typical two-weeks out at sea will need more than $15-$20K on fuel, food, and other provisions.

Behind these doors are large-size frozen tuna bound for export. These lucky fish will probably fly first class on a flight out of CGK (Jakarta International Airport). That slice of tuna on a piece of sushi you ate in Dubai might have come from here.
