She was well compensated. Riley is an angel. Some dogs shake the scarf off with in seconds and some, like Riley, give me about ten minutes to photograph them before they get bored with the game.
The light is streaming through the sliding glass door behind me, sending the dining room in the background, into complete shadow. The bokeh is white christmas lights lining the ceiling.

I love her face!

Massive blizzard hit last night. Almost 3 feet of snow. Wind drifts up to 5 feet. Busy shoveling out spots for my clents to go to the bathroom. Try getting Fifi the little poodle to pee in 3 feet of snow...not easy! I have no internet. Posting this from a the road. Will be around to comment when it comes back on at home.

Riley is one of my favorite petsitting clients. This photograph was taken in her humongous backyard. She's now six weeks into her electric fence training, so I felt comfortable taking her leash off but not her collars. I also had a baggie full of turkey and knew she was going nowhere. ;) Taken very close to dusk.

Pedro giving the camera a big smile. I usually post the serious shots, because I like the focus on the eyes instead of the mouth. But I just wanted to post one where the dog is smiling so you know the dogs I petsit for, aren't grumpy in general. :)
I don't know why the new flickr format is screwing with the edit of the original upload, but the pic looks better if you click on it.

Pedro again, I think he was one of my children in a previous life. ;)))
This is an outside love seat lining the pool in his backyard. I just moved it back into the leaves. Is it autumn already??
This is one of those photographs were the center composition works. I photographed him on the right too, but it didn't look nearly as good. So... center it is.
Added florabella action- Vintage Wine. This action blackened the upper background, which was very dark green trees in shade about 40 feet back. I just filled in a few spots in photoshop.

Pedro is a big cuddler. He will jump up on the couch, nudge my arm up, crawl underneath, lay down and rest his head on my lap... basically saying "pet me". He is so soft and the biggest mush.

Pedro is back on my schedule these next two weeks. I petsit for him every year around this time. He is one of my all time favorite dogs to photograph. Expect to see more of him. :)

Pedro is a rescue dog and one of the cutest beagles I've ever seen. I take care of some 300 dogs and Pedro is in my top 10 favorites. He's very loving and slightly neurotic in a really cute way. I just love him!! (client)

I shot this in low morning light in Riley's TV room. It had the most light. I wish I could take her off leash outside to photograph her because she's got amazing eyes. But the yard's not fenced in and with a beagle's nose, there's no telling where she'd end up.
OK... I'm kinda kidding, but she's not mine and I can't take the chance of losing her.
She is so pretty. She'd look great in the sunshine! (client)

OK... I couldn't resist just one more shot of Pedro. I took over 100 shots(OK, well in felt like 100), trying to get that tail in the shot. It was always moving and I would cut off just the tip almost everytime! Let me give you a little history on Pedro:
He was givin' up for adoption from his original owner because Pedro wouldn't hunt. This guy was a beagle breeder and an avid hunter. He had a lot of dogs. Because of this, the guy felt he'd be better off with a loving family. So Pedro was adopted out.
When he first arrived in his new home, he was painfully shy. But over time, he has slowly come out of his shell. I've been watching him for a few years and this is the first time he wasn't afraid of the camera. He has metal bowls for food and water. When ever they bang against each other or the metal stand they are in, it scares him and he runs away. Then he slowly sneaks back up to the bowl for another mouth full and again the noise scares him. So he backs away again. I mercifully moved his bowls off the hardwood floor and onto the carpet. He likes that much better. I might have to video tape this if I have time. It's kinda funny to watch. ;) Even with his little neurosis', he's a great dog. Very loving and affectionate little guy.
I just love this soft hearted beautiful boy.

Hope you all enjoyed your christmas. Riley gave me a good laugh this morning as I tried to shoot her with these fake antlers on her head. This was one of the out takes but thought it was pretty funny... gave me a good chuckle. She reminds me of the Grinch's cute little dog..

Pedro is back on my schedule this week. He is such a cutie. He's slightly neurotic in that really adorable way some dogs can be. He jumps at the slightest noise including the click of the camera. By the end of each visit, he's usually glued to my side, sitting on the couch, lapping up his rub down. Once he trusts you, he's very affectionate.
