I love the desert... there is something very intriguing about it... something about the struggle between life and death... a few moments before taking this photo I saw a tarantula. As i approached it to kindly take its photo it just kept walking towards me with its back end all arched up... Im no specialist in anachrids... but im thinking this is probably not good... especially for a guy who really does not like spiders...

Taken at a viewpoint north of Flagstaff, Arizona.

I have an ongoing series that I have been shooting...It's called - Every Empty Tells a Story. It is empty beer or soda bottles and cans shot exactly as I have found them. Never placed and never moved during the shoot. This is the latest in that series.

Summer Creek

I have become an avid geocacher... I would have driven right by this photo op if it had not been for a cache that was hidden just to camera right.
I love the sound of water as it traverses over rock. Creeks like these draw me like a magnet. The sounds, the beauty, and the colors... Life is good!

Canada is Really Big!

Geographically Canada is the second largest country in the world. For some reason this photo reminds me of that fact. According to wikipedia we have 3 people per square kilometer in comparison to the USA who has 31 people per square kilometer. Lots of room to wander around here. Here is a humourous song by a Canadian Band called The Arrogant Worms... It's called, Canada's Really Big.

Little House on the Prairie.

Not quite the house Laura Ingalls Wilder had in mind when she wrote the children's books that bear the title "Little House on the Prairie." But Hey when I saw this photo op I could not resist.

These children's books became very popular and even were the inspiration for the tv series that bear the same name that starred Michael Landon. Read More Here

When I saw the vibrant colours in the graffiti it just seemed to bring this old, neglected and deserted building back to life. I like the contrast it has with the desert. Maybe I'm just reading to much into it... either way have a great day!

I was not really happy about the composition of this one...I wanted more of the trees on the right side...If it was not for the fisherman to the cameras left I would have waded in to the creek for a better angle... This is Oak Creek near Sedona, Arizona. What an absolutely amazing place....

So I'm driving down the street... in a town that I dont remember... listening to one of my favorite CD's of all time...The Joshua Tree by U2. Im listening to the title track... Where the Streets have No Name as i pass this sign... What can I say... I had to stop and take a picture... and yes I did park here while I took the shot!

I was recently shooting photos for a Swiss Canadian Restaurant. While talking to the owners I made mention of this sign that was sitting on top of only one table in the lounge. She told me it is a german word that loosely means regulars. It is set aside for all the locals. A place where only locals can sit and hang out. The table cannot be reserved and if you are not a local you will be asked to move. Ring the bell and you are buying a round for the table! I'm sure my flickr friends from Europe can give a lot more info on this tradition.

Rushing Mountain Stream

Saw this rushing mountain stream from a roadside stop. Climbed down to the stream and then realized the best angle in my opinion was standing in the cold mountain water.
