Another new house, sprung up on a nearby street. This was taken from one Yowell Ranch playground to the other, about 1200 feet (365.8m) distant. In a couple of years, we won't be able to see there from here.

My experiment worked, kind of, but slowly this time.

On April 13, I took a picture of the broken bench at our neighborhood's playground to test my theory. My theory was that every time I posted a photo of something in need of work in our neighborhood that it would be fixed soon. All the other images (listed at the link above) resulted in work within a few days.

This bench was replaced on May 17, 34 days after I took the picture. All the other benches at the playground (not broken) were replaced as well.

It's possible that it took so long because the new benches had to be ordered and shipped in. It's possible that the person checking my photos and ordering the work done was on vacation for a few weeks.

Of course, it's also possible that there's no relation at all between my public, searchable images and the work that's being done in our neighborhood, but the continuing success I'm having starts to make that theory improbable.

Currently, I can't find anything around here that really needs fixing, but when I do, I'll post another image to see what happens.

These new benches are much more sturdy and well made than the previous ones, not to mention better looking. So thank you to whoever took care of it.

(Also: the workers left a masonry drill bit at the site, which my 19-month-old daughter found and gave to me. Not wanting to leave it sitting around for other children to hurt themselves with, I took it home. If anyone wants or needs it back, feel free to contact me.)

After learning swings had finally been installed in the second play area of our neighborhood park, we went to test them out. This swing area is closer to our house than the other one, and is more accessible. (The other one requires going off-road for a bit.)

From where I stood, the basketball goal was approximately north, while south is across the pond somewhere. West is slightly to the right of center.
