Watermarks. They make photos awesome. But they don't keep anyone from copying the files. Any file that can be viewed on the internet can be copied.

Using my wife's Nikon, I took pictures of all my gear, using an old T-shirt as the white background. This is what I was working with in mid-2006, and it was quite a capable lineup for me in my job as a small-town journalist. All I was really missing at the time was a super-wide angle lens and a low-light telephoto lens.

Old Canon Arsenal

I used my wife's Nikon Coolpix to capture my Canon arsenal. The newest additions are the Opteka battery grip (attached to bottom of body), and the Canon 50mm f/1.8 II lens (upper right).

Using my wife's Nikon, I took pictures of all my gear, using an old T-shirt as the white background. This is the kit lens that came with my Canon Rebel XT (350D). I used it for a couple of years before eventually replacing in with the Sigma 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC.

Kit Lens

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 "kit lens."

It's the one that came with my camera, but it will soon be up for sale. I've heard people are giving $25-$50 for these lenses, and mine's in near-mint condition. We'll see.

After two weeks of testing, I'm satisfied that my new Sigma 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC lens will more than replace this one, even on the wide-angle side. So I don't need it anymore.

It's difficult to believe I've owned this lens for 17 months.

Seminole Today: $2.799

This is the gas price in Seminole today, AFTER we saw it for $2.539 in Prague, Okla., and $2.459 in Oklahoma City.

Somebody's getting gouged.

When Marline and I drove to Oklahoma City today, we noticed that gas was more than a little bit lower than in Seminole. This is ridiculous! It's still $2.799 in Seminole (a 34-cent difference, per gallon).

I know, it's a Sony bag for a Canon camera, but... This is what goes in it, on a normal day.
