This image (of the LumoPro LP160 flash) was taken handheld, with the lens only a few inches from the subject. I did not notice any of the front/back focusing issues that are supposed to be prevalent with this lens.

For this image, the lens hood was almost touching the subject (new LumoPro LP160 flash unit). The focus was spot-on, though there appears to be slight chromatic aberation, noticeable around the white letters. Some of this can be explained by very narrow depth-of-field and some can be explained by possible camera shake (slow exposure, handheld).

Note: The Sigma 28mm f/1.8 EX DG Macro is not a "true macro" (1:1) lens; at best it can achieve 1:2.9 reproduction.

Again, it was warm outside in the afternoon, so we went for another walk on Saturday. Here's a piece of hardware we spotted on the way home, along Claymore Court. (I'm surprised the paint is that worn... These hydrants were only installed a year ago.)
