Family Salon - Blue Mansion

An open family salon and interaction area of the Blue Mansion. High ceiling height and overspill of the natural light, coupled with excellent ventilation gives a nice comfortable atmosphere and space.

This portion is to the rear of the central courtyard. It is flanked by two bedrooms either side. It's planned is very classical in arrangement, almost Palladian.

Elaborate gilded timber screens restored to it's former glory. A tall ground floor allows adequate ventilation, the courtyard provides for natural light to flood the interior space.

An intricate wrought iron columns and capital supporting dressed up iron "I" beams in local timber.

Looking back towards the parlour - a view from the family/private space of the blue mansion towards the front house. Elaborate gilded timber screens restored to it's former glory. A tall ground floor allows adequate ventilation, the courtyard provides for natural light to flood the interior space.

An Southern China immigrant who later became a very successful businesman with a great fortune, a man amongst the first to negotiate with the President of The United States for the formation of the Sino-American bank......the "Rockerfeller of the East".

A shot at one of the old residence in Penang. A collonial legacy of building leaving an incredible mix of architecture in the tiny island.

A two layer textured shot with the self-made texture (Cracking floor cement rendering) on the top layer "overlay" blended....77% transparencies and 95% effect. And the base layer desaturated and levelled, a vignette was added for effects. All effect and Post-production done in PS CS3 and finished in Nikon Capture NX.

Scene at the Batu Uban, Penang - fishing jetty. A two layer textured technique was executed here, from the composite of the base landscape image from the D300....shot some months ago. And the top layer texture of the landscape sand surface at the KLCC Park, Kuala Lumpur only just recently.

The bottom layer was levelled and slightly desaturated. The top layer(texture) was overlay blended at 65% transparency and 85% effect. Desaturated slightly.
Bottom layer 100%.
