It also has a more flexible tail to assist with swimming when seasonal flooding occurs. This happens more frequently in its habitat than in the much drier central parts of Australia, which is the habitat of the Pogona vitticeps sp. The barbata sp. is generally more agresive than the vitticeps sp. This bearded dragon was however hand reared and it very much likes to ride on one's shoulder. (It currently is about 10 months old and has grown from 10cm to 48cm.)
