Last upload (probably) from my visit to Old Harry Rocks. From this viewpoint, you can see Swanage in the distance. Would have liked a bit more detail in the sky, but hey, at least the sun was shining!

I know photo's of this artwork have been posted before, but it grabbed my attention through the gap between the two vans. It looks so realistic, you would really think that you can see right througfh the building!

OK, not gold, just a field of run of the mill Dandelions.
Imagine early morning sunshine, a warm gentle breeze, and absolutely no noise except for the birds singing. This was right next to the cliffs edge at Old Harry Rocks, and while not nearly so dramatic, I thought it made a nice image!

The great grey owl is a large, reclusive predator of the taiga's coniferous forests. Plunge marks in the snow are usually the only evidence for its presence. Distinctive extra-large facial disks direct sound to feather covered ear openings, providing super-sensitive hearing. This enables the great grey owl to accurately locate prey, even under two feet of snow or in a tunnel. With soft feathers, it can glide unheard from its perch to dispatch an unfortunate rodent with its sharp talons.

An experiment with exposure times. The train wasn't moving particularly fast, so had the opportunity to fire off a couple of shots at different shutter speeds. I didn't want too much blur on the train, as wanted to keep just a bit of detail through the windows. Also, I've deliberately toned down the colours on all but the interior of the train. (I originally was going to call this shot ' My friend took me to Branksome station and all I got was this lousy photograph!, lol) Looks better in Lightbox.

Barn Owls do not hoot, and can hunt by sound alone. In fact, the distinctive heart shaped face is designed to aid their already incredibly sensitive hearing, by funneling the sound towards their ears.

Another photo for my unplanned 'Reptile' set.
The Panthers Chameleon originates from the tropical rainforest in Madagascar.
Interesting fact; It has a tongue as long as it's body, which it keeps coiled up in a pocket at the back of it's throat.
