Tried to refine a similar photo I did by making each post spin fit inside the one before it. Guess there weren't enough steps in between to make this work.

Spin by Lo. 4 spins (though the fourth is barely visible).

**Due to complications, I will have to stop my 365. I'm going to start over again this summer.**

Went out and about exploring new places with a couple of friends tonight. We were at it for about four or five hours in quite a few different cities, walked for MILES, dealt with rain and thousands of creepy spiders. Finally got home at 4:30 this morning and am super fatigued. Time for a shower, some food, and sleep.

Custom white balance! I used to play with that all the time; I'm going to have to start using it again.

I've been wanting to do this time-lapse thing for ages. Mission completed. This is also my first Flickr video!

I figured the night of SPD would be the best due to crazies being out, as you can clearly see. A group of people got maced outside of a bar when we got there. Unfortunately, I hadn't started shooting yet. At one point a security officer made me move away from the building I was sat against... some 3 feet away from the property whilst shooting video. I tried to argue that I wasn't shooting a video at all. Didn't work. So that was the end of my shots.

Went riding yesterday with Mark, one of the most amazing people in this world. It was so much fun but having not ridden in a while, my legs are SORE.

The farrier came today and I can honestly say he's the youngest and best-looking farrier I've ever seen. Some pretty cool pictures came from this visit, especially since it's the first time I've seen someone hot shoe a horse. Wicked scary but wicked cool.

Shot all black and white yesterday. Feeling a kick coming on...

Another return to { tcb }'s secret room. This time to attempt a different double exposure. So far, double exposures are the only thing I end up doing here.... perhaps it's a deep desire to produce something at least half as badass as what tcb's done here. Doubtful this will ever happen.

Many, many tests here and still couldn't get the camera to do what I wanted it to do. Since my tripod got destroyed after falling 30 feet to some rocks, I had to make do with someone else's broken tripod.

I placed the camera on it's side on the slanted ground and shot one way down the "tunnel," capped the lens (thanks, Lauren!), faced the camera the other way down the "tunnel," uncapped.... done.

Wool addict, indeed. R Digi, maybe there needs to be a support group for us.

The Not-So-Secret Place - 15/365 (I believe)

This is the only photo from my 365 that I have in my possession at the moment. I was going to upload them at once, in order, to get back on track... but I have none of the others with me... and I wanted to upload. It's been a while. I've been shooting a lot of film that I have to develop. Does that still count for my 365 as long as I took it on that date? Ah, who cares.

Found { tcb }'s not-so-secret place. You know, the one where he did this badass work of art.

Just got back from Omaha, Nebraska and flying out to Cleveland, Ohio in about a week. After that, L.A. then skipping off to London I go. Yay.

**Also, it's been so long since I've uploaded anything from a computer that I've almost forgotten how!**

**The rope ladder was put up by somebody to get up to the catwalk that goes over the higher point of the bridge arches. I heard there was a manhole one could climb down to get on the catwalk from above but I haven't attempted this yet. Also, that ladder is a bitch to get on for me. **

I had a really bad night last night, some of which is a little fuzzy to me. So during the day, I happened upon this bridge. If anybody knows me, they'll know that I'm going to do all I can to get on the catwalk of this thing, something I KNOW can be done; the graffiti in the middle clearly shows it.

Plenty of fluids today, got some medication, ventured out in the fresh air and sunshine.... I hope this never happens again.

Removed all saturation except blue and aqua (I even removed green and I have green shoes! Camera Raw thought they were aqua so I had to keep aqua).

A lot of help and patience came from Shannon and Mark tonight, so a big thank you to you guys!

We drove down to Shakopee, played with the idea of breaking into Valleyfair, but went to a campground on the Minnesota River instead. They had the perfect trees for this idea that I wanted to try (but spiders everywhere!).

**Edit: I keep looking at it and I just feel like something is missing. I feel as though it doesn't convey the mood I was going for.

The Memory Box - 3/365

I was going through some of my old things and came across my memory box. Throughout the years, I've emptied out things that really didn't matter that much to me, but I had kept them anyway. This is what's left.

The necklace and Valentine's sucker stick are more than a decade old. The first I got from my grandmother; there's another pendant on it with the letter 'J' on. The sucker I had gotten from a boy (God knows who it was) when I was about 13. I used to hang the sea turtle air freshener in my second car and I kept it long after it stopped smelling, good or bad. I smashed some coins on the railroad tracks behind my mother's old house with my little sister and we went back a month later and there they were, flattened on the rocks. And lastly, a horse tooth from the sweetest horse I took care of in Texas. This was from his first dentist appointment.

Time to put these away for another decade.

Coming Out Of The Closet - 2/365

Hauled my old and semi-new Canon film cameras and a very large box full of film out of my closet today. I need batteries for one and will probably get a new one for the other also and then I am set. I've never used the one on the right but the one on the left has seen quite a bit. Sturdy little shit, it is.

The last time I shot at night with a film camera, the result was so underexposed I almost failed the assignment. However, miraculously, I managed to keep the enlarger on long enough (about 6 minutes!) to get surprisingly nice prints out of it the negatives. This is because I had zero night photography experience then. Now that I've had more than enough experience with digital at night, I think I'll put the knowledge to use with some 35mm shots!

I've just thought of this: I probably should have started the photo a day thing. I practically upload a photo a day anyway... Can people start at different times? Could I, say, start right now?

I picked this (for the sake of writing, I shall call it a flower even though I'm almost certain it's actually a weed) flower from my neighbor's front yard where there were hundreds of these sprinkled in the grass. I thought it was a pretty weed.

As much as I love light painting, I need to get back into shooting short exposures again too.

Just removed red, magenta, and violet saturation completely in Camera Raw, and almost all of orange.

**Edit: I AM starting the 365 and I'm going to start with this one!**

I'm a girl... and I love light painting.

My name is Jen Ritt and I am 23 years old. I have 8 brothers and sisters, only one of them full-blood. I am my mother's second oldest and my papa's youngest. I have no children, live on my own, am a double-major, full time student, have a job, and my own, paid-for car. I pay for my own cell phone on my own plan, I pay my car insurance on my own, and I take responsibility for every single one of my actions.

I don't keep people close because I'm always on the move. It's rare for somebody to know who I truly am, and when they do, I get scared. When I let people in, it just makes it that much harder to say goodbye... something I hate more than anything in this world.

I have many friends in real life, many on Facebook, but only a handful of people who've known me for many years, who know what I'm about, who know my quirks and annoyances and love me anyway. Which is fine. I'd rather have four quarters than a hundred pennies.

I'm eccentric, funny, fast-talking, loyal, honest (for the most part), and sometimes sensitive. I like to work for what I get, and absolutely hate asking for somebody's help. I love pretty freely, even though I hate that about myself. I make mistakes, own up to them, and only sometimes learn from them (i.e. putting my hood up when I spin wool). I don't judge anybody, ever, nor am I mean without cause. I don't trust people, for various reasons, until they give me a reason to. I pride myself on being intelligent, of learning as much as I can with what I'm giving, for trying new things, and for always getting back up when I'm down.

Photography has been my passion practically since I started walking and talking. I've never wanted to do anything else, sans the time I wanted to be a ballerina and a detective because of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's Adventure series. After learning light painting, I know it's a passion that I cannot live without. I would go crazy if I couldn't light paint.

I'm not perfect, not even close. But I live adventurously and have thousands of worthy stories because of it.

I am who I am. Take it or leave it.

Wool Spin Panorama

Not the best once I saw it on the computer. Quite dark even though each photo was 30 seconds. Looked brighter at the time or I would have done another round... custom white balanced.

This has been on my photography bucket list for a while; a panoramic photograph with light painting in it. I know you can hardly see my spin but I'm still calling it completed.

Went all over the Twin Cities exploring new places with some friends and happened upon this place. Decided it was as good as any to do my light painting pano since I was going to do a pano here anyway.

Light Bulb... Thing

Finally did the lightbulb thing. Woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. So what did I do? I took apart a lightbulb. Ah, the power of Google.

I tried this indoors and got a couple cool shots, but no really cool subjects. Will be attempting light painting with this thing but for the moment, this is what I've got.

A storm was in the forecast for tonight and, not thinking it was going to be too bad, headed out into the rain and wind. The corner stoplights by my house were FLOODED. Water went 3/4 of the way up my shins! It was awesome.

Walked a couple blocks to a walking bridge that goes over a couple major highways and overlooks downtown Minneapolis. It was so windy and so rainy. I was literally drenched from head to toe. I hung the bulb from a hole in the fence of this bridge and with all of the conditions I was in, somehow managed to get a mostly focused shot of downtown Minneapolis. Now for sleep. Highly eventful day!

I've got friends in high places.

Went out with the goal of doing my first time lapse video tonight since lunatics in green were everywhere (stay tuned for that!) and decided that I wanted to do a panoramic photograph. Went to the top of the Towers condominiums where a friend of mine lives and fell head over heels in love with the view. I think I want to live there now.

I have a feeling this is going to be the first of many panos in my future. I can't wait to do them in Europe!

The Wells Fargo building lights shut off right when we got up there and I got one image with it on.
