These species are from Northern Peru and this is an adult male which have a total length of 4-5cm while the females grow to 5-7cm in length.

Two classic signs of spring, a male Orange-tip on a Bluebell. The female is similar but lacks the orange on the tips on the upper forewings. Flight period is from April-June.

I put this capture up as it shows this adult male siting in the middle of an orchid (artificial flower) which shows how this mantis gets it's name.
