I went down to Sale Water Park yesterday for an hour, 3 hours later!!!!! I walked all the way round the lake and saw two families of Canada Geese and Goslings, one with 3 and one with 9. These were 2 of the 3 settling down on the jetty with Mum and Dad close by.

Juvenile Mutes

At the foot of the jetty at Sale Water Park, these two juveniles Mute Swans spent nearly an hour preening and splashing about. Across the lake and in the nature reserve was a pair of Mutes with I think 6 or 7 cygnets but not really close enough for a good shot.

Walking back to the car and all of a sudden this chap popped up in front of me, so that was another half an hour. A female, presumably his mate, was sat on a nest in the middle of a water course leading down to the lake. Must keep an eye on this nest as I haven't yet been fortunate to see any Grebe chicks.
