The drake and hen swimming in the reflections along the far side of the pond. This pair is starting to hang out on the old nesting box which I take as the final confirmation of Spring's arrival.

Our Fox Nursery Is Growing!

We now have a second vixen with her litter of three kits making their home under the old shed. Here is one of the three older kits, which are losing their baby-gray coloring, approaching the second vixen and her litter of younger kits. All six of the kits play together and are obviously comfortable living in close quarters. We have not seen the male fox, who usually arrived in late afternoon, in about three days. Hope he is all right - noticed that he seemed to have what appeared to be a front foot injury the last time we saw him.

A major addition is under construction just to the east to replace slips lost to Katrina and to enlarge the harbor and number of available slips. The colorful orange boat is a work boat of some sort.

Looking west, this image was taken from a new boat ramp on Henderson Point, near the city of Pass Christian in Harrison County, Mississippi. The bridge crosses the Bay of St. Louis (U.S. Highway 90) to the city of Bay St. Louis in Hancock County. Both the Henderson Point community and Bay St. Louis, as well as most of Hancock County, including the city of Waveland were wiped out in Hurricane Katrina. The boat ramp and adjoining park are new. Only a few of Henderson Point's weekend homes have been rebuilt. Note the damaged piers and boat houses in this image.
