Blooms of Spring

Beautiful Pink Dogwod blooms captured with a shallow depth of field which blurred out the background and added some very cool designs. I then added a painterly effect and texture so the image would have the look of a painting. I hope that I capture my passion of Dogwood blooms in my photography and digital art.
A Christian legend of unknown origin proclaims that the cross used to crucify Jesus was constructed of dogwood. As the story goes, during the time of Jesus, the dogwood was larger and stronger than it is today and was the largest tree in the area of Jerusalem. After His Crucifixion, Jesus changed the plant to its current form: He shortened it and twisted its branches to assure an end to its use for the construction of crosses. He also transformed its inflorescence into a representation of the Crucifixion itself, with the four white bracts cross-shaped, which represent the four corners of the Cross, each bearing a rusty indentation as of a nail and the red stamens of the flower, represents Jesus' Crown of Thorns, and the clustered red fruit represent His Blood.

A beautiful pink Persian Buttercup in a pitcher. I used all natural lighting to capture this sit up and then I added effects and a texture to give the image an aged look. Imagine this as a mothers day card or haning in your bathroom or your bedroom.

Captured some Grape Hyacinth on a bright Spring day along with a butterfly and some effects the magic of Spring is created. The colors are enough to brighten and cheer up any one or any room in your home. The effects used give the image the look of a painting.

Lavandula (common name Lavender) is a genus of 39 species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is native to the Old World and is found from Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, southern Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast India. Many members of the genus are cultivated extensively in temperate climates as ornamental plants for garden and landscape use, for use as culinary herbs, and also commercially for the extraction of essential oils. The most widely cultivated species, Lavandula angustifolia is often referred to as lavender, and there is a colour named for the shade of the flowers of this species
