I had a beautiful day for this hike, just as well as i think it was an 18 mile round trip.The sun was in the wrong place for my photos, im not gonna complain though because weve not seen much of it recently ha!

Old ruins at Coillegillie (3 miles south of Applecross) glowing in the late evening light. The Isle of Skye can be seen away in the distance.
I stayed here once in the 'cottage by the shore' (not the one on the left that is ha!) Red deer used to come down by the cottage in the evening and seals and otters could be seen in the inner sound. It was a magical place, a proper hermits retreat too with a half hour trek through beautiful scenery to get back to the road and car.
Another grainy photo i wanted to save, here its got a postcard look.

This highland burn sees daylight for the first time in a wee while. There were still large blankets of snow to be seen between the shoulders of Meall Glas & Beinn Cheathaich making the descent rather enjoyable...until i crashed through one and into a small stream that is ha! Nothing at all like the above Im glad to say.

Special effects in Craik Forest.

This is an old grainy photo of Teeny walking through the snow in the huge Craik Forest in the borders.
Film meets digital here in a special effects bonanza. A wee bit of Orton mixed with a 'space' overlay. Thought the stars could be mistaken for snow and the colours could be an aurora borealis!!!!
Anyway i think it looks nice and colourful and beautifies an old grainy photo.

With the patchwork of light over Glen Lochay and the gale force winds packing a real punch up here, it made taking photographs kinda difficult.

(I thought this mass of roots at first glance had crab like eyes sticking up at the top and two wee arms or antennas.Maybe i need to keep taking the pills ha!)

Best of friends. (As long as i bring a big sackful of goodies with me though!)
Like the others this is an oldie from 1991 (the good old days), Ive taken out several scratches best i could and the shutter release cable. (The negative was in a very poor state, im not very good at repairing shredded negs so just screw your eyes up and pretend you dont see any flaws.)
I wanted to save this as its one of my favourite photos of a magical time.

Im always seeing things that other people may not. For example; faces in clouds, trees & shadows etc etc. I normally keep my thoughts to myself incase i appear slightly mad! Today i was passing the Gameshope Glen & i thought the remaining snow on the far away hill looked like a wee lamb. (Or a big lamb i should say!) Maybe its just me and my over active imagination?

I watched these two aircraft criss cross each others flight paths at higher altitudes while out hillwalking in the borders. Theres a large strange looking aviation beacon for navigation on the summit of nearby Broad Law.

Loch Skeen (or Loch Skene) pictured here from a snowy Lochcraig Head in the Southern Uplands. This loch sits 1500 feet above sea level & is the source for the 200 ft 'Grey Mares Tail' waterfall.
I thought Midcraigs craggy slopes reminded me of tiger stripes!

Im not saying this kirks a bit on the wee side but even the church mouse bangs his head when he peeps out his hole.
This charming little kirks set in a lovely spot next to the Water of Feugh near Finzean. At first glance you'd think its a place of worship for hermits as its rather out of the way.
For once I was glad we had some rain, the reflection on 'the righteous path' was just asking to be photographed.The Heather was in bloom & the Rowans were full of brilliant red berries when we visited here, septembers a charming time to visit this area.
Best viewed on a black background.

Parking fees apply. (Even for ships!)

Another one of my auld mans Kodachrome Slides given a breath of fresh air. His ship, 'The Saldanha' photographed at some port in the Uninted States of America in 1964 (or 63). Unfortunately Im not sure what port this was. Cars look great.

Another oldie I like saved from the dusty old shoe box, from my early photography attempts on wildlife. This was shot on grainy 400 speed film (it was normally overcast conditions when i ventured out), the negatives now scratched and in poor condition. I didnt even attempt to repair the scratches. A wee bit jiggery pokery (non photographic term) and i think its just passed for a Flickr upload. I like this photo even if it does have more grain than a large silo, it (along with my sleeping/wakened fox & fox with sheep pics) was taken in the same sheep fields round about the same time as the others. I found foxes (or the same red dude) lying up or hunting the grassy savannahs next door to their scrubland hideoot. This fellow was looking at me (or not) for what seemed like an eternity..until the camera motor fired into action!

A christmas card scene near Gladhouse. What meant to be a nice casual walk around Gladhouse in the snow with my big sis turned out to be an artic expedition on the Moorfoot side of the reservoir. Blizzard conditions,driving snow,strong winds and poor visibility on the farm roads.
