Friday 10th of June 2011 was so rainy that many parts of southern Norway had floods. Not that dramatic where I live, in Asker right outside Oslo, but we certainly got some rain. (The water in the foreground is from a fountain, btw.)
Return of the Droplet

trondjs posted a photo:

Larger view
Just as I was warming you up for a load of pics from Spain, the heat spell in Southern Norway is broken by a drastic thunderstorm. The temperature outside our house dropped 11 Centigrades in an hour. And the rain poured down.
In my early life on Flickr, close-ups of droplets taken in macro mode with my compact camera was a regular motive of mine. Its not been this frequent since I went D-SLR.
Mostly because - until recently - I had no macro lens.
So - when the rain had stopped, I put it on the camera body, went out into my garden, and tried to work the droplets with macro lens.
Its certainly different to the macro mode on a compact, and not as easy.
Of all the shots I took (handheld, just to complicate things unneccessary), a few turned out decent! :-)
Well Captured Trees

That's not a reflection - that's the trees in the background seen using the water drop as an objective - hence they're upside-down. It's called a refraction, I've learned since.
This photo is a different exposure - and a much tighter cropping - to this motive, which was posted a few days ago. Shot at the same time, naturally.
