The left hand side is cross-view stereopair. To view in 3D you need to cross your eyes so that the two images merge into one.

The right hand side is a parallel view pair...the same idea but to view you need to make your eyes go parallel.

A 3D infrared image of a recently used planer thicknesser.

This is cross-view stereopair. To view this image in 3D you need to cross your eyes until you see three fuzzy images. Then try and focus the middle image. This takes a lot of patience to get right, but once you've done it once it gets easier.
