&lt;p&gt;A beautifully clear blue-sky morning on the edge of the Arctic circle, Northern Norway. Driving up towards the cold, in late autumn, I passed this still river and reflected forest and couldn't resist stopping to capture the shot. The night's dew was burning off - hence the low mist, and the rising sun above the valley to the east was lighting some of the treetops. A totally still scene, I felt the mono conversion suited the moment and really let the tones come across strongly...&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;After an unproductive early start scrambling up the river at Watersmeet looking for photographs, I headed up into the woodland surrounding the area in the hope of finding some tree images, something I have always struggled to manage. I was totally blown away to find this particular copse of gnarled old boys, especially with the mist in the distance being lit by the sun. This is taken looking uphill, so whilst the sun appears to be only just above the horizon, it's actually several hours into the day. A several-shot stitch allowed the panoramic format, which I felt best suited the nature of the scene...&lt;/p&gt;</description>
