105/365 - Melting into the sunset

I tried to have a nice self portrait with a lovely sunset but things didn't feel right. I felt frumpy and wished my lovely wife was not trying to get out 9mo back to sleep so someone good looking could be in the picture.
Sooooo... I decided to jump in protest. I forgot I had a slow shutter to capture the fading light in the sky and ended up melting my head into the setting sun. I love it when a plan comes together.

Strobist info: sb600 high camera left at 1/2 power shot through 43-inch umbrella and triggered by pocket wizards.

Busy day of sitting behind my desk or behind the wheel going from one place to the next.

Not a bad shot for pointing the camera out the window... well that and massive amounts of post-processing. Split toning is m new bff.

I love my neighborhood. I was coming home late on a bike ride and just had to stop and capture the city at dusk. Nice job Minneapolis.

I'm getting better at balancing out my natural lighting shots. I'm no backlight king but I'm getting the idea. Really focusing on the eyes and balancing out the rest.

And dang if this ain't one of the cutest kiddos out there... snap!

I sure haven't felt myself as of late and it's high time that changed. I almost posted a picture of some dude riding by on a moped... seriously?... blech....

The jumping picture is nothing new but it's something I haven't tried. Took more tries than I care to admit... I also won't admit I'm too out of shape to do this for 20 minutes trying to get the right shot.
