The hummers are on their way home. It's amazing to think that my little buddy, or his wife here, are somewhere in that throng, heading my way. Safe trip my little ones!

I haven't seen the hummers for a couple of days. It was a disappointing summer for hummer pics. I got very few, compared to previous years.

The juvenile hummers used to be scared of these giant sunflowers, but very curious. They would approach them and quickly fly away. Then they figured out they were drinkable.
One day when I was out, one of the hummers was harassing a chickadee. He kept following it around and pestering it. The chickadee was looking over its shoulder a lot, trying to avoid that little devil hummer.

Once again, my pair of hummers has had 2 babies. One boy and one girl.
I finally got a shot of baby boy, with his first ruby feathers.
His sister is below.
Hummer shots seem to be few and far between this year.

It's 45°F here this morning.........brrrrr.

This hummer hovered for a bit over this huge zinnia. Then she decided to sit down for a meal this big.
When I see a hummer sitting on the job, I usually think it's a baby. They get tired.

These zinnias were mislabeled at the nursery. They were supposed to be red and NOT so double.
Makes it more difficult to feed from.
