Lilium glehnii (Cardiocrinum cordatum var. glehnii) of Liliaceae family.
Rare plant, endemic to south of Sakhalin and Kurile islands (Russian Far East), inhabits damp forests along the banks of streams.
Extremely impressive plant reaches a height of 2 meters!

Eupatorium purpureum, it is now synonym of Eutrochium purpureum
Family: Asteraceae
Herbaceous perennial plant native to NW, eastern and central North America (from Canada to Florida)
Common names also: Kidney-root, Trumpet weed, Gravel Root, Joe-Pie
It grows in low, swampy ground. There are over forty species of the genus, many of which are used medicinally as diuretic. The name is derived from a king of Pontus, Mithridates Eupator, who first used the plant as a remedy, and the popular name of Jopi or Joe-pye is taken from an American Indian who cured the typhus with it.

Found and photographed in the forest, wild, growing along the path. Sakhalin island. I think it is escape from cultivation.

Lactarius sp.
This fungus is edible. We soak them in the water for a few days (to remove sap) and than salt with spices - it preserves mushrooms for winter. Very nice to eat with potato!

Beautiful Sakhalin native Viburnum common in deciduous forest. It has bright berries, then berries ripening to black later in autumn, while foliage changes to burgundy (though in English they call it Scarlet leaved viburnum).
In Japan it is called oh-kame-no-ki , it means large-turtle-tree, probably for its leaf shape.

Apparently it is cultivated in temperate countries. I found it in Aussie Gardening site. So if I live in Victoria or Tasmania, it would be plant No1 for me to grow.

Conifer Taxus cuspidata;
It is an evergreen tree or large shrub growing to 12 m tall,
native to Japan, Korea, northeast China and the extreme southeast of Russia.
The seed cones are highly modified, each cone containing a single seed 4–8 mm long partly surrounded by a modified scale which develops into a soft, bright red berry-like structure called an aril (присемянник). They are edible (the red bits), and I used to pick them up in my walks in the park when I was a young girl !
Tree can live to 1,000 years.
It is slow growing. 10 years old plant is 25-30cm only!

Many Cornuses are trees and shrubs, known as Dogwood.
This is shrub too (perennial), but very little one- 10 - 20 cm tall, grows from a spreading rhizome; most attractive native woodland plant makes a wonderful groundcover under a canopy of trees.

Common names: дерен канадский Canadian dwarf cornel, bunchberry dogwood, creeping dogwood.
It has synonym Chamaepericlymenum canadense
It is native to Canada (and Alaska, Greenland) indeed, but also to Far East - Russia, Japan and N. Korea.

Lonicera glehnii (F. Schmidt), deciduous shrub native to Sakhalin, Kurile Islands, Hokkaido and Honshu, is sometimes considered as a geographically disjunct subspecies of Alpine Honeysuckle, L. alpigena L. subsp. glehnii (F. Schmidt) H. Hara.
Fruits are inedible.
