Sod Farm

When sod is purchased in rolls, it never has weeds. Now I know why. The farmers are able to use control measures, sprayed with this unit. Residents like myself are prohibited from using any chemicals on our lawns, and weeds are a definite problem now.

A red balloon had survived the winter cold and winds, and had become entrapped in branches and fence posts. We didn't dare touch it - I suspect it would have burst.

With this summer's lack of rain, it was amazing to see a sod farm with fields of green groomed grass. Can you imagine how much water they have had to use to ensure it was healthy? Wow.

The White Pass & Yukon Rail train enters a tree patch. This shot is just 7 minutes after the next shot.

Canola (also known as rapeseed) is the yellow field in bloom. The closer field is hay, cut and baled. I like how the angles work to point to the two trees that sit on the edge of the two fields.
