363rd day of 2012. A bit of a boring one today but the cross stitch I am doing at the moment is coming along quite quickly so I thought I would show an update. This is one of the wings.
The top line of the wing looks a bit wobbly because the fabric is not pulled tight.

360th day of 2012. Sarah made it for dinner in the end. Still not better but well enough to go to my Mum's for the dinner she has been waiting for for the last 3 years. There were still 5 more seats to be filled including myself, but for some reason when I grabbed the camera some strangely disappeared.

357th day of 2012. Sarah is feeling under the weather which is neither good for her or me as it means I don't get much sleep.
Thankfully Fry is good with these situations and saves me a lot of time and uncomfortableness allowing me to get on with whatever needs doing.
Now if only I could teach him to make a cup of tea...

After travelling all the way from New York this little fig decided it was time to earn some money.
And so, with megaphone in hand he climbed to the top of a very unimpressed Fry (who thought he might be able to eat this little thing on the end of his nose) and tried to draw in the crowds.

355th day of 2012. We have had a lot of rain recently, and this is what happens. The river has risen to the point that it has overflowed in many places. Fields are flooded and this, a wheelchair friendly fishing platform, is currently sitting beneath the water too.

349th day of 2012. Today was spent mostly in Bloomingdales spending far too much money. But we did manage to get out and see a few places before the shopping commenced.
As you may or may not know, this is inside Grand Central Station.
This is a 3 second exposure, I found that if I took it any longer the movement became too faded, any shorter and there was almost no visible movement. This worked quite well as there are also some stationary people amongst the ones busily rushing about.

348th day of 2012. This afternoon we arrived in New York for our xmas shopping trip / holiday. After finding our way to the apartment we were renting for our time here we dropped off our cases and headed out into Manhattan for the evening. Building in America are so different to what we have here in the UK, there seems to be so much more character in them, so much more to look at! This was taken Union Square, before I remembered to turn the GPS back on on the camera.

366th day of 2012. The last day of 2012. The last day of this sometimes frustrating 365(6).
I was going to take a picture of a firework for this picture, then I thought I would get a picture of the clock at 11:59. Then I realised that I was far too tired to stay up any longer, so this is the time that 2012 ended for me.
I have now gone 1 year as a non-smoker! Yay!
A very busy, long and interesting year has now ended. Thank you all for going along this journey with me. Some of you for every step of the way.
2013 may not be as exciting, but I hope there will still be some interesting things that I can share with you all.
Happy New Year to all of you out there, where ever you are!

364th day of 2012. We decided it was time to clear out some of the things we have lying around and never use/wear. So eBay it is!
With the money raised I hope to get myself a new DSLR and accessories, and book a holiday! Well, you never know, it could happen! If Fry lets us actually get rid of the stuff!

361st day of 2012. I actually took this on Xmas day, but it is my Boxing day post.
Fry is wearing his jumper that Sarah bought him in New York toped off with a traditional cracker hat.
I am not sure he was too happy about it, but like a good boy he sat and waited for me to get the shot.

'Twas actually the afternoon before xmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, while I defrosted a mouse.
(actually mice, one each for Hoggle and Jareth)
Sarah was feeling worse and the panic started to set in that she might not actually be well enough to go to my Mums for Xmas dinner. Something Sarah had been looking forward to for quite some time.
We have not been at home for the last 3 xmas' and so Sarah was particularly looking forward to this one and the dinner that came with it.

358th day of 2012. 23rd December 2000. That is when Sarah and I got together, while we were still at school. If you had told me back then that in 12 years time we would have moved half way round the world, lived there for two years then moved back again I think I may have slapped you! But strange things do happen, some good some bad. Between us we have lost 3 close family members in that time, but we have also got married and been on some fantastic holidays.
It seems strange looking back now, at how long ago some of it seems, but I guess that will only get worse as we get older!

Anyway, Sarah is still not feeling great and I needed to pick up some food for us and some for the snakes, so rather than drive and sit in queues of traffic for hours trying to get in and out of places I decided to walk. Sarah came too for some fresh air and the dogs followed. (well, Leela actually led)
This is all the trollies lined up and waiting to be used outside a supermarket. I quite liked how it seemed that the handles were all I could see so I grabbed a few shots while I waited outside with the dogs.

353rd day of 2012. Our last day in New York. And what holiday here would be complete without a visit to see the statue?
I know this picture is a very long way from perfect, but it is the best I have. The program I use for creating HDR and Exposure Blended images is not the best and although it does have a function to align images that are slightly out, it does not always work how you may want. This was one of those that was best left undone in the end.
When I can afford a better tripod and a remote shutter release these problems should be eliminated. Until then, I will do the best with what I have. Just don't look too closely at the picture and hopefully it wont look too bad.

For those who may be wondering where the rest of my holiday pictures are, I am just trying to catch up with posting my 365 pictures for the moment. The rest will be along shortly! :)

352nd day of 2012. Today was a wet day with some very low cloud. It was also rather windy, which made taking some of the photos I had in mind slightly difficult.
I had to line this one up in editing as the wind moved the camera each time I took one.
This is of Brooklyn Bridge with Manhattan reaching up into the clouds behind it.

351st day of 2012. We visited the site of the 9/11 memorial. It was cold, it was wet, it was windy.
Even though this shot has rain on the lens and the colours are not as vibrant, it is my favourite of the three. It would be nice to come back here once they have finished building and maybe on a dryer day. But for now, I think the weather and the fast fading light made the experience that little bit more moving.

This is also sooc. I like the smoothness of the water created by the long exposure. It was very wet and windy so the smoothness was not possible without it. But again, this one did not quite make it as the chosen one for today.

This was very nearly my chosen picture for today. I took it using the sunset mode on my camera as it really brought out the colours and brought out the really interesting effect on the water caused by the wind.
Other than a minor crop this is sooc.

350th day of 2012. We went past this building almost every day on the subway train. This view was from the station. I believe it is abandoned and would have loved to have been able to go inside and take some closer shots. But this will have to do, until next time maybe. The entire building is covered in graffiti. It looks as if local artists were asked to brighten up the building and it worked. I have no information about it other than it is just outside Court Square subway stop and a quick google search says it is called 5pointz. I think I will look into this a bit more!
