Snapped this one painted on the wall of a pub in Holbrook, regional NSW. Used to be that men drank at the bar, while a seperate lounge was available for women. My boss told me that pubs outside of Sydney still had Ladies Lounges and gender segregated drinking in the late 70's

Cyberne from Japan playing a house gig in Watson, Canberra. These guys were excellent live.

Cyberne were the second international band I've seen play a house show in Canberra recently. Last weekend Carsick Cars from China played a great backyard gig to about 200 people. Don't know whether its the lack of decent venues here, or that the town is relatively small...less chance of your place being totally overrun by strangers I guess. Either way, I like it.

During Cyberne's set. Chaos.

Cyberne from Japan playing a house gig in Watson, Canberra. These guys were excellent live.

Cyberne were the second international band I've seen play a house show in Canberra recently. Last weekend Carsick Cars from China played a great backyard gig to about 200 people. Don't know whether its the lack of decent venues here, or that the town is relatively small...less chance of your place being totally overrun by strangers I guess. Either way, I like it.

Shot taken with a 24mm lens, no cropping. Where I was standing, the guitarist's pedals were between my feet. Not much of a barrier between audience and band.

Dead from Melbourne playing a house gig in Watson, Canberra. Chaos. Hadn't seen these guys before...they were fantastic. Will definitely look out for them again.
