Remnants of Glory

ThomasJFox posted a photo:

The remnants of a once glorious Buffalo, NY. This is Buffalo's West Side.

I went for a bike ride this morning. The path took me from my nice neighborhood to the waterfront of Buffalo, NY. The path is a sad one. The actual path itself is nice and new, but riding through neighborhoods that once thrived and were centers of industry but are now nothing but run down neighborhoods and vacant buildings is sad. This photo was taken along the Niagara River just before it flows out into Lake Erie. That is the Peace Bridge to Canada in the shot and on the right is an island (I'm on a bridge) that someone years ago decided that it would be the perfect place for a waste and water treatment plant. Great job guys. The whole area is beaten. It was a shame, and a blessing, that I didn't have my Nikon with me to take some shots. This was taken from my iPhone.

Maybe more urban decay shots to come?
