This panorama was made from 7 photos. Hopefully the B+W brings out the gothic-ness of the house.

As I took the photo (from left to right) I had to wait for some old woman to walk across the front. Old women are slow. And it was cold. I was not impressed. But that's the trouble with National Trust sites I guess.

I saw this guy sunning him self on my just washed car. He looked pretty mean, the reflection gives a good view of his underside.

Another Henry shot, at F/1.8 and the focus on his nose not on his eyes. I find it very difficult to focus on the eyes as they are so dark and he never sits still.

This is a model of the BWO Pioneer, currently the deepest FPSO, and the only one on the US side of the Gulf of Mexico. It had to be designed for a 14 degree roll, which is pretty much this!
Designing FPSOs is pretty much what I do for a living, they are effectively oil rigs on boats allowing them to be more adaptable and mobile.
Sounds cool - but most of the time I sit in front of Microsoft excel typing numbers in to spreadsheets- Every now and then I am allowed out of the office to visit one!

I didn't have any ideas for today so stuck the flash behind the booze cupboard for some forced light bokeh, and used a figurine belonging to my fiancée.

My first and favourite pair of superstars are almost 10 years old, and they look it.
If I could find another pair just like them (with the laces following the stripes) I'd be super star happy
Also I'd like to point out actually they are size 9 and a halfs, despite looking like kids shoes.

Roary Lion the hand puppet lies lifelessly as Henry strides past to claim his next victim.

I was mucking around with the off camera flash. Henry's out of focus and a little bit blurry, but the shot came off better than I had planned - I wanted to have Henry in the background, but he got bored and wanted to see what was going on in the kitchen.

I had this idea for the 30th, but was a little reluctant because it was so cold and after football. So I took this in my shorts, and astro boots, jeez it was cold.

Played football today after workso I was feeling quite exhausted by the time I got home. I also felt bad because I almost hit a mother and her child with the ball with a wild clearance.

I like the rings on the leeks - they're like the age rings on a tree.

A really cold day today, the first time this year that the car needed de-icing.

One of my friends explained to me about white balance and how to whiten up the white bits and not make them yellow (I hope I understood!

I'm not too happy with this one - the bokeh is really white - and looks more like a burn - I'm not sure how to fix this - if anyone knows how to fix this I'd be grateful for any help.

The tobacco factory is a pub near where I live, I didn't have much time today as I had to head there in time for the wednesday pub quiz.
As you can tell by the name it used to be an old tobacco factory - and it still has the big workshop floor and the high ceilings.
The shot was taken from the pavement opposite and the lights are a passing car - I quite like that both doors are open with a faint blur showing someone entering the bar.

As a kid on the hard streets of LA, I used to be an awesome footbag freestyler - the skills I learnt are transferable and mean that I am a brilliant footballer.

None of the above is true I am awful at both, but I try.
Anyway - I enjoyed mucking about with the iphone light last night, so I tried this behind lighting malarkey (again using the iphone flash!)
The picture was taken on a cold night with a timer and remote trigger - I was moving a little, so there is a bit of motion blur as I couldn't hold the sack for 8 seconds while staying still.
I had to go in after the cat started to bite on the remote trigger wire and looked like he was going to run off with it. I did have a quick go at 'keepy uppies' after I took the photo and narrowly missed kicking it over the fence into next door

We had this idea for a lego bride and groom for our wedding to go on the cake. I ordered the parts on the lego website - we might paint them to make them look a bit more like us. Still deciding whether this is a good idea or not - apparently the groom is not allowed a laser gun, or oxygen tanks!

This was done with a bit of white paper - and the light came from my iphone flash from th top. - the first time I've done something like this.

This is Henry, my cat.
I ran out of ideas today, and delayed taking any photos until the sun had gone down. I tried to take some clever photos of wine. They didn't work - luckily Henry was in a playful mood.
I've ordered a cheap flash so hopefully that will improve my indoor photography.

This was taken at the The Golden Guinea in Bristol. A real cool pub with a hip hop / good beer combo!
I still feel a bit of a idiot with the camera - but luckily there was no one in the pub, so I could get this with out people watching.
There's a bit of movement blur because it was quite dark.
