More than 2000 residential properties have now been demolished in Christchurch's
residential red zone following damaging earthquakes in 2010 and 2011. CERA is on target to
complete 3000 demolitions by the end of September this year out of a total of over 6000 properties
to be demolished.

residential red zone following damaging earthquakes in 2010 and 2011. CERA is on target to

On the site of demolished earthquake damaged buildings a gap filler called Creative Corner in New Brighton.
The site includes a covered area for live music, poetry readings etc,
walkways that are covered with the discarded QEII athletic surface.
